Face Connect Operation
Lock/Unlocking doors with face
recognition

By recognizing a registered face, the
vehicle door can be locked or unlocked
without a smart key. Touch the center
of the door lock/unlock sensor (1) on
the outer door handle to start face
recognition. The circular light (2) on the
face recognition camera illuminates in
white and starts rotating. Look into the
camera lens straight ahead within a
distance of 0.3 – 0.8 m. When the face
recognition is complete, the circular light
will change its color to green and the
vehicle door will lock or unlock.

Information
• The camera cannot recognize the face if
it is covered with a mask. Take off the
mask or at least lower the mask until
the nose is completely visible.
•
Touching the sensor on the outer door
handle while carrying a smart key will
lock or unlock the door. At this time,
Face Connect does not operate.
•

Limitations of Face Connect
• Face Connect may not work when:
- Scanning an unregistered face.
- The registered face is not directly in
front of the camera.
- The camera lens is covered with
water or foreign substances.
- The face is significantly different
from the registered face due to
changes in appearance from heavy
makeup, beard, or plastic surgery.
- The eyes are not visible due to
wearing sunglasses.
- The sunlight is strong, or when there
is heavy rain or snow.
- The face is partially covered with
an umbrella or raincoat during bad
weather.
