Connection for sidestream and intubated patient
1. For the intubated patient, when using the airway adapter, install the adapter to the near-end of the loop,
between the elbow bend and ventilator Y tube, as shown below.
2. For intubated patients with an integrated airway respiration adapter in the breathing circuit: connect the luer
male head on the sampling tube to the concave port of the airway adapter.
NOTE:
l Disconnect the cannula, airway adapter, or sampling tube from the sensor when it is not used.
l Before connecting the 3-way stopcock to the breathing circuit, make sure to properly connect the airway
adapter and the sensor. Conversely, before removing the sensor, be sure to remove the airway adapter from
the breathing circuit.
