GRASS ECOPRESS - Drilling of Handle Bore Holes

Required Equipment:
- 2 (1) drill bit, diameter, Ø 5 (3) mm, right
- (1) drill bit, diameter, Ø 5 (3) mm, left
- 1 5-spindle line hole gearbox (accessory)
- 1 piece wooden base, about 5 mm thick
Machine Set-Up:
- Turn off the main switch on the motor
- Take off the gearbox cover.
- Remove all existing drill bits, including fastening screws, from the gearbox.
- Mount the 5-spindle hole line gearbox. See chapter 7-203.
- Fasten new drill bit firmly in the 5-spindle hole line gearbox. See chapter 7-201.
- Spindle placement, see illustration 7-408-01.
- Hang in gearbox cover.
- Adjust the boring depth, if necessary (see chapter 7-301). In order to drill through a front panel thicker
than 20 mm, both sides must be drilled.
- Adjust the boring distance, if necessary. See chapter 7-302.
- Adjust the boring speed of the Ecopress-Pneumatic, if necessary. See chapter 7-303.
- Adjust the turn-on timing of the electric motor, if necessary. See chapter 7-304/305.
- Adjust the side stops. See chapter 7-306/307/309.
- Adjust the hold down clamping device, if available. See chapter 7-308.
- Turn on the main switch. The Ecopress is now ready to operate.
Operating the Ecopress-Pneumatic:
- Place the base of 5 mm on the machine table.
- Place the workpiece on the machine table with one hand pressed against the stops on thefence and against
the side stop.
- Clamp the workpiece in the hold down device, if available.
- Press the start button with the second hand until the drilling cycle is complete.
Operating the Ecopress-Manual:
-Place the base of 5 mm on the machine table.
- Place the workpiece on the machine table with one hand pressed against the stops on the fence and against
the side stop.
- Press the hand lever downward with the second hand until the drilling cycle is complete.
Caution:
While the machine is being operated: Keep hands clear of the danger area of the hold down clamping device, the
insertion arm and the drill gearbox. The safety information in chapter 2 is to be followed whenever the machine is
operated.
