2. Starter check
(a) Mount the starter on the cylinder block, start the engine,
and check that the teeth of the drive gear (A) of the starter
mesh with the flywheel ring gear (B).
1. Removing the starter
(a) Check the starter drive gear for wear. If there are signs of
wear, the starter must be replaced.
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the starter.
ÿ Tightening torque: 50±2 Nm.
(b) Check starter operation and drive gear free play. In case of
violations, the starter must be replaced.
Note:
ÿ Do not clean the starter motor with petrol, carburetor cleaner
or corrosive liquids!
