Port mirroring Port1 - Port17 - If promiscuous mode is "Restricted":
Receives only the packets to the target
LPARs (MAC addresses).
- If promiscuous mode is "Through"
(default):
Receives all the packets in the same
network segment.
Jumbo frame function Port1 - Port17 Always enabled.
Maximum value: 9000 bytes
Uplink failover Port1 - Port17 Always enabled.
If Port 17 is linked down, all the other
ports from Port 1 to Port 16 are also
linked down.
Flow control Port1 - Port16 Always disabled.
Port17 Always enabled.
IGMP Snooping Port1 - Port17 Always disabled.
Spanning tree Port1 - Port17 Always disabled.
• Image of VF NIC switch
The following example is for 17-ports (1 port/LPAR) layer 2-switch when
the number of LPARs is 16 and 1 VF NIC per LPAR.
– Up to 16 pieces of this switch can be mounted depending on the
number of physical NICs with shared setting.
– Ports 1 – 16 are configured by the VF NICs and Port17 by the physical
NIC port.
