3. Lift both latches on the top of the enclosure and pull up to open the right
side of the enclosure cover.
4. Push down on the two release latches for the left side of the enclosure
cover. Then pull up that side to open it.
5. Remove the upgrade-kit drives from the enclosure. To remove a drive:
a. Push back on the tab on the top of the drive.
b. The latch on the top of the drive pops open.
c. Pull up the latch until it clicks into place.
Caution: Do not pull the latch open past a 45-degree angle. Doing
so will damage the latch.
d. Pull up on the latch to slide the drive out of the slot.
6. Insert the four empty drive placeholders into slots 29 through 32. To
insert a placeholder into a slot, with the top of the placeholder facing up,
slide the placeholder all the way down into the slot.
7. Close the left side of the enclosure cover.
8. Close the right side of the enclosure cover, pushing down until it clicks
into place.
9. Pack the upgrade-kit drives in the upgrade-kit box.
Step 18c (conditional): Remove the front panel and light pipe

If the enclosure is in a rack, you need to remove the front panel and light
pipe assembly from the enclosure.
