One set of mounting rails for each server module (two inner rails and
two outer rails).
Two IEC 320 C13 to IEC 320 C20 power cables for each server module.
A purple one-foot server interconnect cable
Two purple one-foot BMCinterconnect cables
Two SAS cables for each enclosure
Upgrade-kit drives may come installed in enclosures, or they may come
packaged separately from the enclosures. If the drives are packaged
separately, you need to install them in the enclosures so that you can wipe
them along with the 32 drives already in each enclosure. After you wipe the
drives, you need to remove the upgrade-kit drives from the enclosures.
An S30 Node can be returned completely racked, completely unracked, or,
because for shipping purposes a rack can contain at most four enclosures,
partially racked. If an S30 Node with more than eight enclosures is returned
partially racked, four enclosures are returned in one rack, up to four
enclosures are returned in a second rack, and the remaining enclosures are
returned unracked.
Before the drives can be wiped, the SAS cables for all the enclosures must
be connected at both ends. If the S30 Node was returned completely or
partially racked, the cables for the first four enclosures are most likely still
connected at both ends, and the cables for other enclosures may still
connected at one end. In any case, you need to connect all the SAS cables
for both racked and unracked enclosures.
The SAS cables are different lengths. So that you can make the
connections, the enclosures and server modules must be positioned within
certain distances of each other. For specific information on positioning the
enclosures, see Step 1 (conditional): "Unpack the enclosures" on
page62.
If the S30 Node was returned completely or partially racked, you need to
remove the server modules and racked enclosures from the rack, detach the
mounting rails from these components and from the rack, and insert the
inner rails into the outer rails.
