6. If the HCP Anywhere edge software automatically restarts, continue to
Step 3: "Verify the edge device". If it doesn't, continue to "Option 2:
Reinstall the operating system".
Step 3: Verify the edge device
Once the server restarts, verify that the edge device is working properly.
To verify the edge device:
1. Log in to the appliance using the built-in administrator account and your
password.
2. Once you log in to the appliance, ensure the HCP Anywhere edge
software is running.
3. If the HCP Anywhere edge software is running, log in to the
Management Console using your credentials.
4. Click the Device Management tab on the Management Console and
confirm that your edge device is listed as Ok in the Device Management
page.
Option 2: Reinstall the operating system
If you are unable to log in to the HCP Anywhere edge appliance, you can
reinstall both Windows Server 2016 and the HCP Anywhere edge software.
To reinstall Windows Server 2016 and the HCP Anywhere edge software:
1. Install the Microsoft Windows Server software
2. Log in to the HCP Anywhere edge appliance
3. Change the administrator password
4. Locate the Windows Server product key sticker
5. Activate Windows Server 2016
6. Create the data partition
7. Download and install the HCP Anywhere edge software
8. Register the edge device.
