3.1 Tension Arm Position and Tension
Torque Check (Fig. 3-1)
Notes: 1. This item is an operation check for periodic
maintenance. Check the following, and only when
adjustment is necessary, proceed with adjustment
in next item.
2. Adjustment is unconditionally necessary after
replacing the tension arm, tension band or tension
arm spring. Proceed with adjustment in next item.

(1) Make sure that the tension arm spring is hooked onto
hook (b) on the subchassis. (Fig. 3-1)
(2) Set the camcorder to the playback mode without
inserting a cassette. (See the previous page.)

(3) After setting to the rewind mode, set the camcorder to
the playback mode. Make sure that the tension arm
moves in the direction of arrow (B).

(4) Insert the cassette torque meter, set to the playback
mode, and make sure that the value on the supply side
is 8-10 gf.cm.
(5) Proceed with adjustment in next item only when the
check items are not satisfied.

3.2 Tension Arm Position and Tension
Torque Adjustment (Fig. 3-1, 3-2)
Notes: 1. Be sure to perform this adjustment after replacing
the tension arm, tension band or tension arm
spring. When the tension arm or tension spring
must be replaced, also replace the tension band.
2. Be sure to replace the tension band before
performing this adjustment.

(1) Attach all parts. Loosen screw (E).
(2) Hook the tension arm spring onto hook (b) on the
subchassis. (Fig. 3-1)
(3) Set the camcorder to the playback mode without
inserting a cassette. (See the previous page.)
(4) Make sure that the tension arm fully moves in the
direction of arrow (A).
(5) Check the position relationship between the tension
arm and the square hole in the loading motor holder
(initial position). [Fig. 3-2 (initial position)]
