The EDS file must be registered with NetTool-DN before configuration can con-
tinue.
•From the Tools menu, select Install EDS Files.
• Enter the path, or browse to the location of the EDS file for the Anybus-
X.
• Click Open.
• Select the Tools menu option, then Update, and click on the network
name. The Anybus-X icon should be properly displayed on the network
screen.
Step 4: Put the Anybus-X in Idle Mode
The Anybus-X powers up in Idle mode, and is controlled by the EtherNet/IP scan-
ner through the output command register. Make sure that the module is in Idle
mode by verifying that the Anybus-X Status LED is flashing green (the LED is
solid green when the module is in Run mode). If the module is not in Idle mode,
place the connected Ethernet scanner in Idle or Program mode.
Step 5: Set the DeviceNet MAC ID
• Right click on the Anybus-X icon and select Device.
• Pull down the next menu and select Change Node Address.
• Select or enter the desired MAC ID and click Ok.
Note: The Anybus-X will automatically reset if a new MAC ID is entered.
Note: When the MAC ID is changed, the Anybus-X’s I/O configuration is
cleared.
