Install the gasket onto the front bracket.
Install the armature into the motor case while holding the
armature tightly to keep the magnet from pulling the
armature against the case.
Install and tighten the bots (3 nos.).
INSTALLATION
Install a new gasket onto the starter motor.
Install the starter motor into the crankcase.
Install the ground wire and mounting bolts (2 nos.), and
tighten the bolts securely.
Connect the starter motor wire to the terminal, tighten the
screw (1 no.) and install the dust cover over the terminal.
STARTER RELAY
INSPECTION
Remove the front cover (page 2-2).
Remove the battery cover (page 15-6)
Remove the starter relay.
The coil may be damaged if the magnet pulls the
armature against the case.
