Table A-2: Is the Server Blade Power on/standby LED Illuminated?
Answer Possible Reasons Possible Solutions
No A broken connection exists
between the server blade
enclosure and server blade
sleeve.
A broken connection exists
between the server blade
sleeve and server blade.
The power enclosure is not
powered on.
The system may have
experienced a short.
Do the following:
1. Verify that power is applied to the
infrastructure.
2. Remove the server blade from the
server blade sleeve.
3. Check the connectors on the rear of the
server blade, on the interior and the
exterior of the sleeve, and on the interior
of the server blade enclosure for
damage.
If the power on/standby LED is still not
illuminated, do one of the following:
Use the optional diagnostic station to
power the server blade while inside the
blade sleeve and use the blade sleeve
and server blade LEDs to continue your
diagnosis.
Use the optional diagnostic station to
power the server blade while inside the
sleeve and use the iLO remote console
or the video connection provided
through the local I/O cable connectors
to continue your diagnosis.
Note: For LED locations and functions, refer to “Front Panel LEDs, Button, and Port” in Chapter 1,
“Server Blade Component Identification.” For cabling configurations, refer to Chapter 6, “Connecting
Local I/O Devices.” For blade sleeve and server blade LED troubleshooting information, refer to
“Server Blade and Blade Sleeve Power Troubleshooting” in this appendix for more information.
