CAUTION: To prevent possible equipment damage when installing a PCI card, overall power
consumption of the system (including I/O cards, processor, and memory) must not exceed the maximum
rating of the system power supply.
PCI card support bracket
Some PCI cards have retainers installed to prevent movement during shipping.
Removing a PCI card support bracket
To remove a PCI card support bracket:
1. Disconnect power from the system (see
Predisassembly procedures on page 52).
2. Remove the side access panel (see
Side access panel on page 58).
3. For short or tall PCI cards:
a. Press in on the ribbed portion of the holder (1).
b. Apply upward pressure on the lower arm (2).
c. Rotate the support bracket out of the chassis, as shown:
