Replacing the non-hot-plug drive
About this task
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the sever unless all bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.
Procedure
1. Back up all server data on the drive.
2. If installed, remove the security bezel.
3. Power down the server.
4. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
5. Remove the non-hot-plug drive.

6. Remove the drive from the carrier.

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedures.
