15 VoIP
15.1 Overview
Use this chapter to:
l Connect an analog phone to the L
TE Device.
l Make phone calls over the Internet, as well as the regular phone network.
l Configure settings such as speed dial.
l Configure network settings to optimize the voice quality of your phone calls.
l When using multiple APNs, you have to do the following actions to make sure the IAD
devices or Softphone on the LAN can go through the correct routing path (second APN).
Add a static route that helps route traf
fic to the media server (ex. 204.11.12.32 in the
example at the right) through the Voice interface in the Network Setting > Static Route
> Add New Static Route screen (see 7.2.1 Add/Edit Static Route for more
information). After adding the static route, you can wait until the register retry interval
timeout expires to let VoIP automatically connect to the server, or you can go to the
System Info page and press the register button to have VoIP immediately connect to the
server.
