8.4 Changing the filter cartridge - Spin-On

The procedure for changing the Spin-On filter cartridge is given

in this chapter.

1x strap wrench

Proceed as follows for changing the Spin-On filter cartridge:

1. Switch the filter unit off and close the shut-off devices at

the inlet and outlet.

Secure the filter unit from inadvertently switching on dur-

ing the maintenance operations.

2. Depressurize the system. The filter unit is depressurized

if the visual clogging indicator is on

green

3. Make sure that no further operating medium from the

tubes is able to enter the filter unit and also ensure that

the filter unit cannot be put into operation again during

maintenance work.

4. Now release the filter cartridge using a strap wrench by

rotating it counterclockwise and unscrew it carefully from

the holder.

5. About 1.5 liters of residual oil remain in the filter car-

tridge. Dispose the filter cartridge as well as the operat-

ing medium in that in an environmentally friendly man-

ner.

6. Moisten the sealing ring of the new filter cartridge with

the operating medium.
