What to do if the arc blows out and re-ignites on my Hypertherm Welding System?
    • A
      Alexa GonzalesAug 1, 2025
If the arc blows out but re-ignites when you press the torch trigger again on your Hypertherm Welding System, inspect the consumable parts and replace them if they are worn or damaged. Also, replace the gas filter element if it is contaminated, and ensure the gas pressure is at the correct level.

Why does the arc sputter and hiss on my Hypertherm Welding System?
    • A
      Amanda SkinnerAug 9, 2025
If the arc sputters and hisses in your Hypertherm Welding System, it could be due to a contaminated gas filter element. Replace the element. Also, inspect the gas line for moisture. If necessary, install or repair the gas filtration to the power supply.

What to do if the arc doesn't transfer to the workpiece on Hypertherm Welding System?
    • S
      Sarah AndersonAug 15, 2025
If the arc does not transfer to the workpiece with your Hypertherm Welding System, clean the area where the ground clamp contacts the workpiece to ensure a good metal-to-metal connection. Inspect the ground clamp for damage, and repair if needed. The pierce-height distance may also be too large, so move the torch closer to the workpiece and try firing the torch again.

What to do if the power LED is off on my Hypertherm Welding System?
    • M
      Matthew PachecoAug 23, 2025
If the power ON LED is not illuminated on your Hypertherm Welding System, even when the ON/OFF power switch is set to ON (I), verify that the power cord is properly plugged into the receptacle. Also, check that the main power panel or the line-disconnect switch box is turned ON and that the line voltage is not more than 15% below the rated voltage. Lastly, ensure that the fuses in the disconnect are not blown.
