5. Shutting Down / Locking Out
The shutdown procedure should be followed at normal end of GV10x operation. The
lockout procedure should be followed during part replacements and/or repairs. The release
procedure should be followed to return the GV10x to normal service after previous lockout.
5.1. Shutdown Procedure
Shut down the equipment in an orderly manner.
5.1.1. If the GV10x is in the plasma-generating state (i.e. ON has previously been
asserted), press OFF button to direct the Source to the “off state”.
5.1.2. Locate and operate all energy isolating devices:
* Terminate AC power to the Controller by toggling the AC line switch at the power inlet
at the back of Controller to the OFF (0) position or by terminating power delivered by the
host equipment.
5.2. Lockout Procedure
5.2.1. Confirm both steps of the Shutdown Procedure have been performed.
5.2.2. Lockout/Tagout: Affix energy isolating devices:
* Remove AC line cord from IEC Inlet on GV10x Controller.
* Apply a lockout clamshell to the AC line cord and attach safety tag. Figure 5-1 shows
a typical lockout clamshell device.
5.2.3. Relieve any stored energies:
* Not applicable.
5.2.4. Verify that devices have been successfully isolated and de-energized:
* Observe that all preceding steps have been accomplished.
