Installation and Servicing
SECTION 1 - GENERAL
1.10 TERMINAL
The terminal assembly can be adapted to accommodate various
wall thicknesses. Refer to Section 2.13.
1.11 AIR SUPPLY
It is NOT necessary to have a purpose-provided air vent in the
room or internal space in which the boiler is installed. Neither
is it necessary to ventilate a cupboard or compartment in which
the boiler is installed, due to the low surface temperatures of the
boiler casing during operation.
1.12 WATER CIRCULATION SYSTEM
IMPORTANT.
A minimum length of 1 metre of copper pipe MUST be tted
to both ow and return connections from the boiler before
connection to any plastic piping.
WATER TREATMENT - Refer to Section 1.20.
1.13 BOILER CONTROL INTERLOCKS
Central heating system controls should be installed to ensure that
the boiler has no demand when there is no requirement from the
system, in compliance with Building Regulations.
Heating systems utilising full thermostatic radiator valve control
of temperature in individual rooms should also be tted with a
room thermostat controlling the temperature in a space served by
radiators not tted with such a valve.
When thermostatic radiator valves are used, the space heating
temperature control over a living / dining area or hallway having
a heating requirement of at least 10% of the minimum boiler heat
output should be achieved using a room thermostat, whilst other
rooms are individually controlled by thermostatic radiator valves.
However, if the system employs thermostatic radiator valves on all
radiators, or two port valves, then a bypass circuit must be tted
with an automatic bypass valve to ensure a ow of water should
all valves be in the closed position.
1.14 ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
WARNING.
Electrical safety of the appliance is reached only when it is
correctly connected to an efcient earthing system as specied by
current safety standards.
Attention: Hunt Heating declines any responsibility for damage
or physical injury caused by failure to connect the boiler to an
efcient earth system or failure to comply with the reference
standards. Also ensure that the electrical installation corresponds
to maximum absorbed power specications as shown on the
boiler data plate.
The boilers come complete with a 1.5 metre power cable that
includes an Australian electrowelded plug. The plug is of type I,
compliant with standard AS 3112.
The power cable must be connected to a 240V ±10% / 50Hz
mains respecting L-N polarity and the earth connection. When
replacing the power supply cable, contact a qualied technician
(e.g. Hunt Heating Service Dept) (Fig. 1-4).
For the main power supply to the appliance, never use adapters,
multiple sockets or extension leads.
1.15 CONDENSATE DRAIN
(Refer to Section 2.18)
A condensate drain is provided on the boiler. This drain must be
connected to a drainage point on site. All pipework and ttings in
the condensate drainage system MUST be made of plastic - no
other materials may be used.
Drainage must comply with national and local regulations ie
condensate must not be drained directly to storm water. If
suitable drainage point cannot be reached, condensate must be
neutralized via approved method as supplied by Hunt Heating.
IMPORTANT
Any external runs must be in accordance with AU/NZS 3500.
The drain outlet on the boiler is sized for standard 21.5mm (3/4”)
overow pipe. It is a universal tting to allow use of different
brands of pipework.
