Replacement of damaged chassis number plate
If the chassis number plate is damaged or destroyed in a
collision or in connection with repairing collision damage,
the workshop will order a replacement plate from the Laws
and Safety department.
Address:
Iran Khodro Company
Km 14 Karadj Road
Tehran
Iran
Essentially, a replacement plate is never issued to a
workshop that is not authorised by IKCO.
The Laws and Safety department orders a replacement
plate from the Production Planning department and at the
same time requests the workshop to hand in the damaged
plate.
When the Laws and Safety department has received the
damaged plate it will be scrapped and the replacement
plate forwarded to the workshop in a suitably safe and
reliable manner.
If the damaged plate cannot be forwarded to Laws and
Safety, the following will be required:
- A certificate from the police confirming that the plate
is missing and that the car has not been stolen or
scrapped.
- A certificate from the ISACO workshop proving that
the chassis number stamped on the car body
coincides with the registration document and
describing how the plate was lost.
The matter is registered at the Laws and Safety
department and a copy of the letter from the ISACO
workshop acknowledging receipt of the replacement plate
is filed away.
The reason for this procedure is that Iran Khodro Company
shall not in any way help to make it possible for a stolen
car to be given a new identity
Checking the body dimensions
When replacing bodywork details and aligning the body,
it is extremely important that the mounting points for the
power train subframe and body components are located
in their correct positions and that door and hatch
openings have the correct form.
Serious damage to bodywork must be repaired in an
alignment bench to prevent resulting skewness or
dissymmetry. Serious damage refers mainly to
deformation of the bodys system of members.
Diagonal measurements must also be taken to check
for any skewness or dissymmetry remaining after the
alignment. See Technical data, Body dimensions, (4).
