5 Press S or T to highlight Cable (without a box) or
Antenna, then press SELECT. The Channel Scan starts.
• If you are using an antenna for a standard or HDTV
signal, select Antenna.
• If your cable is connected directly to the TV (using no
cable box), select Cable (without a box).
If your cable or satellite TV is connected to your TV through
a cable or satellite box, the channel search is not necessary
because the cable or satellite box already has the channel
information needed to communicate with your TV.
Setting up the channel and favorite channel
lists
You can add, hide, or mark favorite channels in the channel list.
To set up the channel and favorite channel lists:
1 Press TiVo. The Home screen opens. Press S or T to select
Settings, then press
X or SELECT.
2 Press S or T to highlight Settings, then press X or SELECT.
3 Press S or T to highlight Channels & providers, then press
X or SELECT.
Note
You can press CLEAR, MENU, or EXIT to stop the
channel scan, but you will need to run the channel
scan again to create a channel list.

Antenna
Cable (without a box)
Your TV works with either cable or antenna channels. Select the TV
signal you have connected to this TV. The TV will then begin scanning
for channels, which may take up to 30 minutes.
You only need to scan for channels for cable if you are NOT
using a cable box. If you have a cable box (or a satellite box), the box
already has information about your channels
