Power Requirements
Power Cord Selections
When you place an order for a table model load frame, you can choose the following:
• voltage
• power cord type
Refer to Table 2-2 on page 2-8 for a list of the available voltages and to Table 2-3 on
page 2-9 for a list of available power cords and their matching receptacles.
If you do not make a choice, Instron chooses the customary voltage and power cord
combination that matches the shipping destination for the system.

a. For 230 Vac operation, the frame is normally set to 220 Vac.
You must use GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interruption) protection on all power
sources if your testing system includes water or any other fluid.
If your system includes any fluids (e.g. water-cooled grips, BioPuls baths, food testing
fixtures), you must use GFCI protection on all power sources to protect the operator from
fluids that might leak into the load frame electronics.
