Second Test Space Configuration
The second test space option lets you test in the space above the moving crosshead, as
shown in Figure 2-3 on page 2-15.
In this configuration, the top plate is replaced with a fixed crosshead. Holes are drilled in the
fixed crosshead to mount the load cell or grip adapter. The specimen is gripped between the
fixed crosshead and the top of the moving crosshead.
