For optimum recordings, the EEG level should be low enough that a 20µV rejection threshold setting
could be applied and ensure that brief periods of increased EEG level would be rejected. However, for
non-optimum recording situations, a setting of 40µV may be needed. Such an action is not without conse-
quences however, and it is unlikely that near-threshold responses will be recorded in such adverse re-
cording conditions.
