Fuel Level Sender Test
See Figures 4-46 and 4-47.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-7.)
2. Remove the fuel level sender from the fuel tank. (See
“Fuel Tank” on page 9-6.)

3. Connect the test leads to terminals (1 and 2).
4. Set the meter to read ohms.

NOTE
Float shown in the empty position.
5. Move the float (3) in the empty position and read the
resistance value.
Is the resistance value approximately 180 ohms?
YES Proceed to step 6.
NO The sender unit is faulty; replace the sender
unit.
6. Move the float (3) to the full position and read the
resistance value.
Is the resistance value approximately 4.0 ohms?
YES The sender unit is good.
NO The sender unit is faulty; replace the sender
unit.
