Removal and Installation
See Figures 3-14 through 3-16.

CAUTION
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-7.)
2. Raise the hood.

3. Remove four lock nuts (2), screws (4), and eight flat
washers (3) from downpipe (5) and elbow (1).
4. Remove four lock nuts (10), screws (9), and eight flat
washers (8) from muffler (11) and down pipe (5).
5. Remove downpipe and gaskets (6 and 7) from elbow
(1) and muffler (11).

6. Remove four screws (12), lock washers (13), flat
washers (14), elbow (15), and gasket (16) from
exhaust manifold (17).

7. Remove six flanged lock nuts (18), exhaust manifold
(20), and gasket (19).
Installation Notes
• Install the exhaust manifold by reversing the order of
removal.
• Use new gaskets during installation.
Engine components will become hot during
operation. Allow engine components to cool
before performing service. Failure to follow safety
recommendations may result in injury.
