Reel Drive Motor
Removal and Installation
See Figures 8-22 through 8-24.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-7.)

2. Remove two nuts (2) and lock washers (3) from drive
motor (1).

3. Remove the drive motor (4), coupler (5), and gasket
(6) from the cutting unit.

NOTES
• Label all hydraulic hoses before disconnecting to
ensure correct installation.
• Plug hydraulic hoses after disconnecting to prevent
the loss of hydraulic oil.
4. Disconnect hose (8) from fitting (7).
5. Disconnect hose (9) from elbow fitting (10).
6. Disconnect hose (11) from motor OUT port.
NOTE
Record the location of fittings before removing to ensure
correct installation.
7. Remove fitting (8) from motor IN port.
8. Remove elbow fitting (10) from motor DRAIN port.
9. Disconnect elbow fitting (12) from motor OUT port.
Installation Notes
• Install the reel drive motor by reversing the order of
removal.
• Use a new gasket for installation.
• Apply grease to the yoke shaft lubrication fitting and
drive motor coupling. (Refer to “Safety, Operation,
and Maintenance Manual” for grease specifications.)
• Check hydraulic oil level. Add oil as needed. (Refer to
“Safety, Operation, and Maintenance Manual” for oil
specifications.)
