1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-7.)
2. Remove the reel drive motor. (See “Removal and
Installation” on page 8-33.)

CAUTION
3. Remove four screws (6) and eight flat washers (5),
and remove the rear cover (4) from the pump housing
(3).
4. Remove seal (9), backing seal (8), and thrust plate
(10) from the pump housing (3).
5. Remove retaining ring (17) from drive shaft (7).
6. Remove the front cover (15) from the pump housing
(3).
7. Remove backing seal (14), seal (13), and thrust plate
(12) from the pump housing (3).

Never pry components apart. Use a soft face
hammer, and gently tap housing and shaft to
separate pump bodies.
