Device address (addr. 000)
If several devices are connected to one another
via the M-Bus interface, a master device can only
differentiate between these devices by means of their
device addresses. Therefore, each device in a network
must have a different device address. Addresses can be
set in the range from 1 to 250.
C
The adjustable range of the device
address is between 0 and 255. The values
0 and 251 to 255 are reserved and may
not be used.
Secondary device address (addr. 081-084)
The secondary address provides - in addition to the pri-
mary address - a further opportunity to speak directly to
the device within the bus system.
The composition of the secondary address is broken
down into a device-specific section and an extended
section:
The secondary address is comprised of 8 Bytes and
is coded as BCD.
The extended section of the secondary address is
pre-assigned with the device serial number. This sec-
tion can be changed by the customer (addr. 081- 084).
The device-specific section of the secondary address
cannot be changed.
