11. Check Spring Stroke
The amount of the needle thread supplied by the check
spring should be 11 to 15 mm.
Thread the machine up to the thread guide

and
lower the presser foot.
Lower the needle bar to the lowest position.
Hold the thread end and mark the point

on the
thread beside the thread guide.
NOTE:
There should be no slack in the thread.
Pull the thread gently to the left until it stops (the
check spring
e
went full stroke).
Measure the length of thread drawn out.
Loosen the setscrew

and move the tension dial

to adjust the stroke.
• If the length is too long, turn the guide in the direction

• If the length is too short, turn the guide in the direction
B
.
Tighten the setscrew
