Turn the power switch

on while pressing the Up/
Down needle position button

and bobbin winding
button

at the same time.
Remove the top cover.
Lower the needle bar by turning the handwheel until
the needle point is 18.7 mm above the upper surface
of the needle plate

Loosen the setscrew
t
. Rotate the upper shaft
shielding plate

toward you until the green LED
u
turns on.
Tighten the setscrew
t
and turn the power switch off.
Attach the top cover.
