2. INSTALLATIONS
2.1 Installation procedure
The following procedure is for installing the equipment.
① Selecting a location to install the equipment
Carefully discuss the following points with the ship's owner when selecting a location.
• Install the equipment in a well ventilated area that is not humid.
• Install the MF/HF controller (NCM-2150) on the bridge or someplace near the ship's controls. (If
two controllers are being installed, install one near the ship's controls.)
• Refer to the "External dimensions and equipment overview" and consider the maintenance of the
equipment when selecting a location. When installing the MF/HF transceiver (NTD-2150), space
is needed for installing the upper part and the top plate after the bottom part has been installed.
• The MF/HF transceiver (NTD-2150), MF/HF antenna tuner (NFC-2150), MH/HF controller
(NCM-2150), AC/DC power unit (NBD-2150), and charger (NBB-724) must be grounded to the
ship. The MF/HF antenna tuner must be grounded by soldering one side of a copper sheet to the
ship as explained later.
• The MF/HF controller (NCM-2150) is provided with a 5 meters length cable, but it can be relayed
through the connection box (NQD-2250) and extended up to 70 meters (between the transceiver
and the controller). However in this case, it is needed to use one power cable DPYC-2.5 per one
MF/HF controller between the MF/HF transceiver and the connection box.
• The Antenna tuner (NFC-2150) is provided with a 5 meters length cable, but it can be relayed
through the Junction box (NQD-2253) and extended up to 30 meters.
• Install the equipment far enough away from the compass to protect the compass.
