2.2.8.4 Setting the battery charging voltage
The charger (NBB-724) is set at the factory for lead acid batteries. To use other types of batteries, set
it as shown below.
Reference: Battery types and charging voltages
Type Model number Floating charge voltage Equalizing charge voltage
Lead SS-200 26.2 V 29.4 V
Lead (sealed) MSE 26.8 V 26.8 V
Alkali AM-P 28.4 V 30.4 V
Factory default setting
Open the blank panel indicated by the arrow in the diagram below.
Turn the AC and DC breakers on. Check that the FLOAT lamp is lit to confirm floating charge
mode is on.
Note:
An alarm sounds if the AC breaker is turned on before the BATT breaker, this is not a
malfunction, it happens because the charger alarm function detects that the BATT
breaker is off.
If the BATT breaker is turned on while no battery is connected or the poles are
reversed, an internal protection circuit trips the BATT breaker.
Use the voltmeter on the panel to check the charger's voltage as you turn the control RV2
inside the blank panel to set the floating charge voltage for the battery being used.
