Trouble Case (1) Case (2) Check and Corrective measures
4. The needle point is crushed 4-1) Needle guard 1-A) The needle guard is too low, or its longi-
tudinal position is not correct.
Increase the height of the needle guard. Check
the clearance between the needle and needle
guard.
4-2) Contact with the looper 2-A) The clearance between the lower looper
and the needle is not correct.
Increase the clearance between the lower loop-
er and the needle.
5. Stitch skipping (needle thread) 5-1) Lower looper 1-A) The blade point has defective shape
and does not catch needle thread loops.
Replace the lower looper.
The lower looper fails to catch
needle thread loops.
5-2) Adjustment of the
loopers
2-A) The clearance or the amount of return is
not correct.
Refer to the pertinent Standard Adjustment.
5-3) Needle thread presser 3-A) The duration in which the presser holds
the needle thread is not correct, and
unstable loop result.
If the needle thread presser has excessively
deformed due to correction, etc., replace it with
a new one.
5-4) Needle 4-A) The needle is bent or improperly orient-
ed.
Replace the bent needle. Correctly orient and
attach the needle.
5-5) Needle guards 5-A) Incorrect height or clearance prohibits
correct guide for the needle. If a needle
guard is too high, loops are crushed with
consequent stitch skipping.
Refer to the pertinent Standard Adjustment.
5-6) Height of needle 6-A) The needle has incorrect height and
does not properly pick up loops even if
the looper has a correct return.
Refer to the pertinent Standard Adjustment.
5-7) Positioning of the
needle thread take-
up guide and needle
thread guide
7-A) The needle thread take-up draws the
thread excessively to produce smaller
loops.
Refer to the pertinent Standard Adjustment.
5-8) Threading 8-A) The thread has been entangled with a
thread guide. The reading has bot been
correctly done.
Refer to the threading diagram.
