Trouble Case (1) Case (2) Check and Corrective measures
17-2) The needle threader fails
to operate smoothly.
2-A) The base is not in parallel to the needle
bar.
Install the needle threader so that it is in parallel to
the needle bar.
2-B) Dust has entered the space between the
cam section of the operating lever and
the base.
Remove dust. If the needle threader still fails to
operate smoothly, apply grease to the needle
threader.
18. Thread sliding segment 18-1) The thread sliding seg-
ment fails move forward.
1-A) The sliding section is clogged with dirt. Remove dirt from the sliding section.
19. Abnormal noise 19-1) Area surrounding the
needle bar
1-A) Contact between the needle clamp
thread guide and the front cover.
Correct the position of the thread guide. If it has
deformed, correct the thread guide by bending it.
1-B) Contact between the needle and the
upper and lower loopers.
Refer to the pertinent Standard Adjustment.
19-2) Area surrounding the
looper
2-A) Contact between the lower looper and
the thread sliding segment.
Refer to the pertinent Standard Adjustment.
2-B) The thread sliding segment comes
in contact with the front cover due to
bending of the 2/3 thread changeover
attachment.
Correct the bent section. If it cannot be corrected,
replace the thread sliding segment with a new
one.
19-3) Area surrounding the
motor
3-A) Belt vibration Adjust the belt so that it is properly tensed.
19-4) The pulley produces
noise when it is turned.
4-A) The cams assembled in the main shaft
run out of oil.
Apply oil. If possible, remove the cams from the
main shaft and clean them up and apply grease to
them.
