1. Remove the switch from the shipping carton (see "Unpack the EX4100 and EX4100-F Switch" on
page 119).

2. Place the switch on a at, stable surface.
3. The front brackets allow you to mount the switch. If you want to mount the switch in a recessed
posion, aach the 2-in.-recessed front-mounng brackets provided in the separately orderable
four-post rack-mounng kit.
4. Have one person grasp both sides of the switch, li the switch, and posion it in the rack, aligning
the mounng bracket holes with the threaded holes in the rack or cabinet rail. Have the person align
the boom hole in each mounng bracket with a hole in each rack rail, making sure that the chassis is
level. See Figure 69 on page 125.

5. Have a second person secure the switch to the rack by using the appropriate screws. Tighten the
screws.
