1. Remove the switch from the shipping carton (see "Unpack the EX4100 and EX4100-F Switch" on
page 119).

2. Place the switch on a at, stable surface.
3. The front brackets allow you to mount the switch. If you want to mount the switch in a recessed
posion, aach the 2-in.-recessed front-mounng brackets provided in the separately orderable
four-post rack-mounng kit.
4. Have one person grasp both sides of the switch, li the switch, and posion it in the rack, aligning
the mounng bracket holes with the threaded holes in the rack or cabinet rail. Have the person align
the boom hole in each mounng bracket with a hole in each rack rail, making sure that the chassis is
level. See Figure 69 on page 125.

5. Have a second person secure the switch to the rack by using the appropriate screws. Tighten the
screws.
