• Interface ports—The AUX, CONSOLE, and ETHERNET ports provide access to management devices.
Each Roung Engine has one 10/100/1000-Mbps Ethernet port for connecng to a management
network, and two asynchronous serial ports—one for connecng to a console and one for connecng
to a modem or other auxiliary device.
• EEPROM—Stores the serial number of the Roung Engine.
• Reset buon—Reboots the Roung Engine when pressed.
• Online/Oine buon—Takes the Roung Engine online or oine when pressed.
• Extractor clips—Inserts and extracts the Roung Engine.
• Capve screws—Secures the Roung Engine in place.

Slot for Roung Engine
• AUX–Connects the Roung Engine to a laptop, a modem, or another auxiliary device
through a cable with an RJ-45 connector.
• CONSOLE–Connects the Roung Engine to a system console through a cable with an
RJ-45 connector.
• ETHERNET–Connects the Roung Engine through an Ethernet connecon to a
management LAN (or any other device that plugs into an Ethernet connecon) for out-
of-band management.
Controls RESET buon–Reboots the Roung Engine when pressed.
Supported slots Front panel slot in an SCB installed in:
• SRX5400: Boom slot 0
• SRX5600: Boom slots 0 or 1
• SRX5800: Center slots 0 or 1
NOTE: The rewall host subsystem Roung Engine must be installed in the SCB in slot 0. A
Roung Engine installed in an SCB in slot 1 only enables dual control links in chassis cluster
conguraons.
