Functionality
The parameters for the touch probe function are shown in the following table.
Parameter Description
S-0-0169
Touch probe control parameter
The settings in this parameter dene which touch probe and which edges are active
during the touch probe cycle.
The signicance of the individual bits:
Bit no. Description
15 – 9 Reserved
8 Auto activation
0: Touch probe function is activated via the command S-0-
0170.0.0 "Probing cycle procedure command"
1: Automatic activation of the touch probe function on activation of
the phase change from CP3 to CP4 (not supported)
7 Reserved
6 Mode touch probe 1
0: Single measurement
1: Continuous measurement
5 Mode touch probe 2
0: Single measurement
1: Continuous measurement

Parameter Description
S-0-0170
PROBING CYCLE PROCEDURE COMMAND
If the Probing cycle procedure command is set and enabled by the master, the drive
reacts to the following parameters:
- Probe 1/2 enable (S-0-0405, 00406) and
- Probe 1/2 status (S-0-0401, 00402) as is programmed in
- Touch probe control parameter (S-0-0169).
While the command is active, the controller can make several measurements.
The command is deleted by the controller if no further measurements are required.
S-0-0179
Measured value status
If the drives saves one or more measured values while the probing cycle procedure
command (S-0-0170) is active, at the same time it sets the related bit in the measured
value status. If the "Probe 1 enable" (S-0-0405) is cleared by the controller, the drive
clears bit 0 and bit 1 in the measured value status.
If the "Probe 2 enable" (S-0-0406) is cleared by the controller, the drive clears bit 2
and bit 3 in the measured value status. The drive clears all bits in the measured value
status when the probing cycle procedure command (S-0-0170) is cleared by the
controller.
Measured value status structure:
Bit 0: Measured value 1 positive acquired (S-0-0409) 0 - Not acquired 1 - Acquired
Bit 1: Measured value 1 negative acquired (S-0-0410) 0 - Not acquired 1 - Acquired
Bit 2: Measured value 2 positive acquired (S-0-0411) 0 - Not acquired 1 - Acquired
Bit 3: Measured value 2 negative acquired (S-0-0412) 0 - Not acquired 1 - Acquired
Bit 15-4: (reserved)
Bit 15-4: (reserved)
S-0-0130
Measured value 1, positive edge
If there is an external encoder, the drive saves the position actual value 2 in this param-
eter on a positive edge from touch probe 1 (S-0-0401) during the measuring cycle. If
there is no external encoder, the position actual value 1 is saved.
S-0-0131
Measured value 1, negative edge
If there is an external encoder, the drive saves the position actual value 2 in this param-
eter on a negative edge from touch probe 1 (S-0-0401) during the measuring cycle. If
there is no external encoder, the position actual value 1 is saved.
S-0-0132
Measured value 2, positive edge
If there is an external encoder, the drive saves the position actual value 2 in this param-
eter on a positive edge from touch probe 2 (S-0-0402) during the measuring cycle. If
there is no external encoder, the position actual value 1 is saved.
S-0-0133
Measured value 1, negative edge
If there is an external encoder, the drive saves the position actual value 2 in this param-
eter on a negative edge from touch probe 2 (S-0-0402) during the measuring cycle. If
there is no external encoder, the position actual value 1 is saved.
