Optical channel fiber-optic connectors are easily damaged when
connected to dirty or damaged cables and accessories. When you use
improper cleaning and handling techniques, you risk expensive
instrument repairs, damaged cables, and compromised measurements.
Before you connect any fiber-optic cable to the Keysight Variable Optical
Attenuator modules and Keysight Variable Optical Attenuator modules
with Power Control, refer to
Cleaning Instructions on page 84.
Always remove both ends of fiber-optic cables from any instrument,
system, or device before visually inspecting the fiber ends. Disable all
optical sources before disconnecting fiber-optic cables. Failure to do so
may result in permanent injury to your eyes.
