Features of your vehicle Door locks
To lock the child safety lock, insert a key
(or screwdriver) into the hole and turn it
to the lock position.
To allow a rear door to be opened from
inside the vehicle, unlock the child safety
lock.
Rear Door Locks
Use the rear door safety locks whenever
children are in the vehicle. If a child acci
-
dentally open the rear doors while the
vehicle is moving, he or she may fall out.
Electronic child safety lock (if
equipped)
If you push the electronic child safety
lock switch and the indicator appears,
rear passengers cannot open the rear
door from inside the vehicle.
To cancel the electronic child safety lock,
push the electronic child safety lock
switch one more time and then the indi
-
cator turns off.
Safe Exit Assist is operated when the
electronic child safety lock is activated
and Safe Exit Assist is selected in the
cluster. However, Safe Exit Assist does
not automatically activate the electronic
child safety lock system.
The electronic child safety lock is always
on when the EV button is in the ON for
approximately 3 minutes.
If children accidentally opens the rear
door while the vehicle is in motion, they
could fall out of the vehicle. Electronic
child safety lock should always be used
whenever children are in the vehicle.
If the Electronic child safety lock is not
operated when pushing the Electronic
child safety lock switch, the message is
displayed and the alarm will sound.
