trols the regenerative braking automati

cally according to the road gradient and
driving condition of the vehicle in front.
The system minimizes the unnecessary
operation of the brake and acceleration
pedal, improving the electric efficiency
and assisting the driver.
Setting smart regeneration sys

tem
Pull and hold the right side paddle
shifter for over 1 second to turn on and
off the automatic change of the regener
-
ative braking. The automatic regenera
-
tive braking adjustment by smart
regeneration system is activated above
the standard set level.

With 'AUTO' for the regenerative braking
level displayed on the cluster, the regen

erative braking level is controlled auto

matically when vehicle speed is above 6
mph (10 km/h) and one of the condition
below is met.

僅 Distance from the vehicle ahead
reduces or increases
僅 Speed of the vehicle ahead reduces or
increases
僅 The regenerative braking level can be
adjusted based on the driver's decel

the infotainment system.

When vehicle speed is under 6 mph (10
km/h), the Smart Regeneration System
is canceled. The driver must adjust the
vehicle speed by depressing the acceler
-
ator or brake pedal according to the
road condition ahead and driving condi
-
tion.
When the system is turned on from the
Vehicle Settings menu, but the front
radar doesn't recognize the vehicle in
front, 'AUTO' is displayed in white.
If the front radar recognizes the vehicle
in front, 'AUTO' is displayed in blue. The
regenerative braking level is automati
-
cally controlled depending on the driv
-
ing condition of the vehicle in front and
the level is indicated with arrows.
However, current regenerative braking
level is maintained if the driver
depresses the brake pedal while the sys
-
tem is in activation. Also, the system is
