Exhaust manifold

Allow the exhaust manifold to cool before demounting it in
order to prevent scorching and burns.
Verifythatthesealsurfacesarefreeofdistortionsandscratches
andthatthemanifoldisnotbrokeninanyway.
Whenretting,replacegasketsB.
Tightennutsto25Nm.
Intake manifold
The sealing surface should be clean, smooth and free of any
strainsandscoring.
WhenreassemblyreplacegasketA.
Tightenthefasteningscrewsto25Nm.
Disassembly / Reassembly
"V" belt
Danger – Attention
Check the belt tension only when the engine is not running.
Tensionadjustment:
LoosenalternatorxingboltsC.
Stretchbeltsothata100Nmloadlocatedhalf-waybetweenthe
twopulleyscausesa10÷15mmexure.
PullstronglyalternatorexternallyandtightenxingboltsC.
Thenaltorquemustbe40Nm.
IfyouusethebelttensiongaugetypeDENSOBTG-2,thecorrect
valueoftensionmustbefrom35÷40Nm.
Cooling fan
Danger – Attention
Before disassembling the cooling fan, isolate the positive
battery cable to prevent accidental short-circuiting and,
consequently, activation of the starter motor
Take offthe fan and check thatall blades are not damaged; if
anyaredamaged,replacetheentirefan.
Dependingonthetypeofapplicationthecoolingfanscanbesuction
orblowerfansandcandifferindiameter.
Tightenthefasteningscrewsto10Nm.
