15.1 Removing the front wheel
Preparatory work
– Lift the motorcycle with the rear lifting gear. ( p. 89)
– Lift the motorcycle with the front lifting gear. ( p. 90)

Main work

Remove screws
from both brake calipers.
– Press back the brake linings with a light lateral tilting of the brake calipers on the brake
disc. Pull the brake calipers carefully back from the brake discs and hang them to one
side.

Do not pull the hand brake lever when the brake caliper has been removed.

Loosen screws

Unscrew screw
about six turns and press your hand on the screw to push the wheel
spindle out of the axle clamp. Remove screw

Warning
Danger of accidents Reduced braking efficiency due to damaged brake discs.
– Always lay down the wheel in such a way that the brake discs are not dam-
aged.
– Holding the front wheel, withdraw the wheel spindle. Take the front wheel out of the
fork.
