8.70Adjusting the headlamp
Remove the trim. ( P. 54)

On a light-colored wall in front of which there is a horizontal surface, make a mark
at the height of the center of the low beam headlamp.
Make another mark at a distance below the first mark.
Specification
Distance 5 cm (1.97 in)
Position yourself with the motorcycle at a distance in front of the wall and
switch the low beam on.
Specification
Distance 5 m (16.4 ft)

Loosen screws and . Swivel the headlamp bracket and headlamp of the
ready-to-operate motorcycle with a rider until the light-dark boundary lies exactly
on the lower mark.
Tighten screws and .
Mount the trim. ( P. 54)
8.71Removing the battery x
Warning
Risk of injuryBattery acid and battery gases cause serious chemical burns.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Wear suitable protective clothing and goggles.
Avoid contact with battery acid and battery gases.
Keep the battery away from sparks or open fire. Charge only in well-ventilated rooms.
In the event of skin contact, rinse with large amounts of water. If battery acid gets in the eyes, rinse with water for at least
15 minutes and contact a physician.
Switch off all power-consuming components and switch off the engine.
Remove the seat ( P. 55)

Disconnect the negative (minus) cable of the battery .
Pull back the plus pole cover and disconnect the positive (plus) cable of the bat-
tery.
Remove screws . Remove the retaining bracket .
Lift the battery up and remove it.
