The wide adjustment range of the chain adjusters (32 mm) enables different
secondary transmissions with the same chain length.
The chain adjusters can be turned by 180°.
8.32Adjusting basic setting of clutch lever

– Adjust the basic setting of the clutch lever to your hand size by turning adjusting
screw .
Info
Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to increase the distance between the
clutch lever and the handlebar.
Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise to decrease the distance between
the clutch lever and the handlebar.
The range of adjustment is limited.
Turn the adjusting screw by hand only, and do not apply any force.
Do not make any adjustments while riding!
8.33Checking fluid level of hydraulic clutch

The fluid level rises with increasing wear of the clutch lining disc.
Do not use brake fluid.

– Move the clutch fluid reservoir mounted on the handlebar to a horizontal position.
– Remove screws .
– Remove the cover with membrane .
– Check the fluid level.
Fluid level under top level of container. 4 mm (0.16 in)
» If the level of the cooling liquid does not meet specifications:
– Correct the fluid level of the hydraulic clutch.

– Check parts for damage and wear. Replace damaged or worn parts.
– Replace membrane , lid and screws .
8.34Checking front brake disc
Warning
Danger of accidents Reduced braking due to worn brake discs.
– Worn brake discs should be replaced immediately by an authorized KTM workshop.

– Check the thickness of the front brake disc at several places on the disc to see if it
conforms to measurement .
Info
Wear reduces the thickness of the brake disc around the area used by the
brake linings.
Wear limit of brake discs
front 4.5 mm (0.18 in)
» The brake disc thickness is less than the specified value.
– Replace the brake disc.
