Warning
Danger of accidentsThere is no braking effect to start with at the rear brake after installing the rear
wheel.
Actuate the foot brake several times before going on a ride until you can feel a firm pressure point.

Check the rear hub damping rubber pieces. ( p. 125)

Check the wheel bearing for damage and wear.
» If the wheel bearing is damaged or worn:
Change the rear wheel bearing.
Remove spacer.
Clean and grease shaft seal ring

Insert a spacer.
Clean and grease the thread of the wheel spindle and nut.

Clean the contact areas on the brake caliper bracket and link

Engage the thrust bearing of brake caliper bracket

link fork.
Jack up the rear wheel into the link fork, position it, and insert
the wheel spindle.
The brake linings are correctly positioned.
Place the chain on the sprocket.

Mount the left and right chain adjusters in the same
position.
Make sure that chain adjusters

are fitted correctly on the
adjusting screws. Tighten nut

Guideline
In order for the rear wheel to be correctly aligned, the mark-
ings on the left and right chain adjusters must be in the
same position relative to reference markings
