Swivel Arm
Along the left-hand side of the hopper is a retracted swivel arm on which a set of control levers is
mounted. These levers (see Figure 4-13) are used to operate both the container and the hopper
bucket.
The swivel arm is retractable to reduce the width of the vehicle during normal driving. Each time the
hopper bucket has to be lowered, the operator must first unfold the swivel arm towards the front of
the vehicle where it must be locked (see Figure 4-14). This will keep the operator from standing
directly under the hopper bucket while operating.
A safety switch, located under the arm, will prevent control levers from being activated until the arm is
properly locked into position.

The swivel arm has two (2) lock levers that hold it to the body, one on each side of the arm
(see Figure 4-15). To release the swivel arm, the left-hand lock lever must be pulled down and the
right-hand lock lever must be pulled to the left.
