3.10 Measuring Resistance (R), Compensation of
Additional Line Resistance
In the measuring mode Resistance Measurement, resistances up to 20 Ohm can be
measured with battery DC voltage and automatic pole-change as per IEC61557-4.
Continuity checks can be performed fully automatically with battery DC. The built-in
buzzer responds to resistances <2 Ohm (compensation of the measuring-lead
resistances is inactive).
For compensation of the measuring-lead resistances, a function „Zero
Compensation“ is available.

Observe overload capacity and connect instrument as shown. Connect
instrument as per Figure with 3-pole measuring lead.
Connect measuring lead L

.
Turn central selector in mode „R“ to position „1 kΩ“.
The Voltage „U

1
and L

is automatically
displayed (see also section 3.6).
Pressing key „Start“ starts the resistance measurement, the plus pole of the
voltage being first applied to L
2
and earth/ground to L
1
- with subsequent
automatic pole-change. The value displayed is the measured value minus the line
resistance of the measuring lead (if the compensation is active), labelled resistance

(corresponding to L
2

L

= earth/ground).
Pressing key
S „Display“ makes R

(corresponding to L
1
= plus pole, L
2
=
earth/ground) available for display.
For a new measurement press key Start“ again.
To return to the original measurement for displaying the mains voltage U
L-PE
, twist
the central selector.
