4. INFORMATION FOR THE TESTER
4.1 General, Design
Microprocessor-controlled instrument for testing protective measures in electrical
installations and plant as per DIN VDE 0100 and ÖVE-EN1, featuring a 3-digit LCD.
There are eleven available measuring and testing functions:
1) Protective wire check IEC/EN 61557-1
2) Phase connection check IEC/EN 61557-1
3) Measurement of voltage
4) Frequency
5) Fault current protective circuit check IEC/EN 61557-6
6) Earthing/grounding resistance IEC/EN 61557-5
7) Insulation resistance IEC/EN 61557-2
8) Loop resistance IEC/EN 61557-3
9) Earthing/grounding voltage (SEV 3569)
10) Rotary field direction IEC/EN 61557-7
11) Resistance IEC/EN 61557-4
In addition to the measured values returned by individual functions, supplementary
measured values can be fetched and stored. Because of this versatility in
measuring facilities, the instrument serves not only for testing purposes but also
supports troubleshooting in electrical plants.
Mode and range selection is effected by a central selector. Four rubber keys are
provided at front panel left for starting measurement, calling complementary
measured values and selecting special modes. This design ensures rapid and
unambiguous single-handed operation.
The measured values are displayed with correct decimal point and with the
appropriate unit on a liquid-crystal display. Various additional special characters
serve to display the measuring mode, the operating status and error conditions.
The instrument has been developed, designed and manufactured in compliance
with the Quality Assurance System DIN ISO 9001.
The auxiliary power source consists of six 1.5 V batteries (IEC R6 or LR6) or six 1.2
V storage batteries of the same size (round cells R6).
The electrical safety complies with IEC/EN61010-1 and the standards‘ series
IEC/EN61557. The housing construction complies with safety class II (s) and
protection system IP40.
The instrument is developed manufactured according to the quality assurance
system DIN ISO 9001.
