Compensation of Additional Line Resistance:
Turn central selector in mode „R“ to position „<o> “. Short-circuit the two
measuring
cables L
1
and L
2
+ L
3
or their extensions and press keyR „Start“. The displayed
resistance
value corresponds to the line resistance; it is stored and will be automatically
subtracted in the 20-Ohm range and in all other resistance measuring functions
(R
A
; FI/R
A
; R
LOOP
) from any later measurement result.
As either the measured line resistance or the half is subtracted depending on
mode, only a similar extension of both connections is permitted.
By this method, resistance values up to 5 Ohm can be compensated.
To erase the stored value, turn the central selector to Position „<o>“ and - with
open, i.e. unconnected measuring leads - press key
R „Start“. The display shows
„R
K
> 5.0 Ω “, indicating that the value has been erased. The stored resistance
value is also erased when the instrument is switched off.
Note:
The resistance value stored in this function is automatically subtracted from
the result of all other resistance measurements (FI/R
A
-measurement; R
A
;
R
LOOP
). To avoid falsifications of measured values in these functions, always
erase the value after terminating a measurement with „compensation“.
The measuring-lead compensation is disabled during continuity checks.
